Announcement of the Official Symbol Mark and Usage Guidelines for the Hachinohe–Towada Trail

Symbol Mark Selected!

As the regional DMO responsible for promoting this trail, we work in close collaboration with local governments and related organizations to enhance awareness and encourage its use.

For more information about the trail, please see here.

Inspired by the landscapes of this region—mountains, rivers, fields, and roads—the design expresses the form of a path connecting Hachinohe and Towada.
By removing unnecessary ornamentation and adopting a flat, geometric composition, it achieves both a timeless quality and a subtle sense of local character.

This symbol embodies the unique identity of the trail.

Both the logo and the name give shape to the stories of people and nature that live along this path.

The newly selected symbol mark will serve as a visual identity of the trail and will be used in future promotional materials, signage, and related content.
On this page, we announce the selection of the logo and provide information on the guidelines for its use.

Overview

The Ministry of the Environment, Aomori Prefecture, and the municipalities of Hachinohe, Nanbu, Gonohe, and Towada have been working together to establish a new long-distance trail connecting Towada-Hachimantai National Park with the Michinoku Coastal Trail in the Sanriku Fukko National Park.

Named the “Hachinohe–Towada Trail,” this approximately 120 km route starts at Hachinohe Station in Hachinohe City as its eastern trailhead, passes through Nanbu Town and Gonohe Town, and ends at Towada Shrine in Towada City as its western trailhead. The trail has been open on a trial basis since April 23, 2025.

To encourage more people to become familiar with and engage with the trail, guidelines for the use of the Hachinohe–Towada Trail symbol mark have been established.

These guidelines set out the necessary rules for the use of the trail’s symbol mark, logotype, and logo. In principle, prior approval is not required for their use. We encourage anyone who supports the concept of the Hachinohe–Towada Trail to actively make use of these materials in accordance with the guidelines.

While the trail is scheduled for its official opening in fiscal year 2027, information such as route maps and temporary closures will be provided on the official website during the trial period. Looking ahead, we will continue to improve the hiking environment through initiatives such as launching social media channels and installing trail signage.
