Hot springs will warm your cold body from the core. Towada is an area blessed with numerous “secret hot springs” visited by hot spring fans from all over the country. There are hot springs of various sizes, from Sarukura to the shores of Lake Towada, Oirase Gorge, Mt. Yakeyama, and downtown, so you can easily enjoy a hot spring tour.
This is a bus tour around the winter scenery of Oirase with a nature guide. The Oirase Gorge runs for about 14 km from Lake Towada to Mount Yakeyama. It is located within Towada-Hachimantai National Park and is designated as a specially protected area. In winter, large and small waterfalls freeze due to extreme cold, and they transform into impressive ice waterfalls and icicles that seem to have stopped time. On the bus tour, you'll enjoy the white silver landscape during the day, and the illuminated ice waterfalls and icicles at night.
Set at Towada Shrine, this is an illumination event with the motif of “The Legend of Lake Towada” remaining in Lake Towada. Light and sound effects adorn the nature-rich approach to Towada Shrine and the area around Lake Towada. Please enjoy the new “Story of Light,” which uses the power of modern light.
