The herbaceous peony is a perennial plant in the peony family, and is often called the “Minister of Flowers” in Japan.
At the Peony Festival, you can enjoy around 2,000 large peony blooms of approximately 160 different varieties.
In early June, when the peonies are in full bloom, they are joined by neighboring lupines for a colorful floral display.
Note:
Peonies are highly sensitive to rain and wind, and their blooms can suffer damage under such conditions.
On the other hand, if the weather is clear and sunny during the blooming period, the flowers will last longer.
Therefore, it's recommended to check the bloom status in advance to ensure the best experience.
